Hi Fiona, I have just tried to leave a comment on your blog, but it seems to have vanished before it as accepted????I will try again. I looked for an email addres to contact you but can't see one? I have just received a copy of your knitted fairy book that I bought from Amazon.fr (I live in France) I'm hoping to make a start on a fairy this weekend. I have a variety of yarns some is acrylic, some 100% cotton and some pure wool. I do not know which will work best? I'd also like to have a go at knitting them on dpn's as I really don't like sewing up especially when the pieces are small. I just wondered if you had tried this way? and do you think it would be possilbe. Look forward to hearing from you. Warmest best wishes, Susanne

thanks everyone for the lovely comments. Susanne, I have had trouble leaving comments for blogs too. my email is: atholglen@ozemail.com.au
I would experiment with acrylic yarn first I think. Several people I know prefer to knit in the round, so defintiely possible but I'm not very good at it. For some tips visit http://www.ravelry.com/ there is a fiona mcdonald fan club on it and I know there are knitters there who have translated the patterns into in the round. Can't wait to see some pics.
I've recently completed a "Babes in the Woods" doll and am very pleased. I also found an error in the number of stitches to cast on for the sleeves of the blue cropped top. Just a tip for the neck: I used a section of foam pipe insulator (long grey tubing to keep pipes insulated) and it worked perfectly.
Hi Angela, So glad you enjoyed knitting a Babe. I'm afraid there are a number of mistakes in the dolls' clothing so any you pick up are appreciated. Ravelry has a fiona McDonald fan club and the memebers are fantastic and helping to correct mistakes. I'd love to see photos. my email is: atholglen@ozemail.com.au
